Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban prayed “long and hard” for Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s victory in the Turkish presidential election. About it declared the prime minister himself on the radio Kossuth.

“To be honest, I not only supported the president’s victory, I prayed for it, strongly and a lot. If he had not won, it would have been a tragedy,” Orban said (quote according to RIA Novosti). He also called the Turkish President’s re-election “a huge relief.”

The Hungarian prime minister noted that if Erdogan’s opponent Kemal Kılıçdaroglu won, there was a risk of an increase in the flow of refugees by three million, as well as problems with the transit of oil from Russia to Hungary and Serbia.

June 1 Turkish CEC let down the final results of the presidential elections, according to which the incumbent Turkish President Erdogan won 52.18% of the vote, and his rival Kılıçdaroglu – 47.82%. The second round of elections took place on May 28 – it was decided to organize it after none of the candidates in the first round on May 14 overcame the 50% mark required to win in the first round.

It is not known what day the inauguration will take place, but presidential adviser Mehmet Uchum on his Twitter account informedthat the date of the event is set for tomorrow, June 3rd.

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Erdogan on his victory in the elections, calling it natural. He pointed out that Moscow highly appreciates Erdogan’s personal contribution to strengthening friendly relations between the two countries and mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas. At the inauguration ceremony of the re-elected President of Turkey from the Russian side will attend Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
