In Russia, there is a shortage of oncaspar, a vital and non-alternative drug for the treatment of children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. This was announced to Kommersant in the association of oncologists “Hello”, noting “a huge flow of requests from parents and doctors who are concerned about the current situation.” In 2019, oncaspar had already disappeared due to the cancellation of registration in Russia, then the government quickly managed to solve the problem. Now the drug is expected to arrive only in the first half of 2023 due to the need to translate the text of the package into Russian. The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation reported that they were aware of the risk of defects, so on October 5 they issued a conclusion to the manufacturer “on the possibility of circulation of oncaspar registered in the Russian Federation in packaging intended for circulation on the territory of foreign states.”
