OMV writes off €2.5 billion of Russian assets in 2022

The Austrian oil and gas company OMV announced the write-off of €2.5 billion of assets in Russia in 2022. As transmits TASSthe head of the company, Alfred Stern, said at a press conference.

In April 2022, the Austrian company informed write-offs of almost €2 billion of assets. This was due to the loss of revenues from the Nord Stream 2 project and operations related to Russia. It is not yet specified what the write-off of another €500 million is connected with.

OMV refused from investments in Russia in early March against the backdrop of the introduction of Russian troops into Ukraine. The company continues to participate in the development of the Yuzhno-Russkoye oil and gas field.
