“Not from a test tube”: Volodin reminded deputies where they came from
Volodin condemned State Duma deputies who disagree with the “childfree ban”
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin criticized deputies who oppose the adoption of a new law banning childfree ideology.
Speaking in parliament, Volodin expressed the opinion that voluntary refusal to have children is an idea imposed by the West. He also stated that if there had been such “propaganda” in the country several decades ago, many current deputies would not have been born.
“If there had been such propaganda before, many would not have been here,” Volodin said.
He expressed confidence that the people would not support those who opposed the new ban: “Then you will be against your mothers, against their choice to give birth to you, you will be against your country.” In addition, Volodin called for checking whether the opponents among the deputies were not a test tube, because he is sure that “not a single mother, not a single grandmother, not a single father in their right mind would support (nomination) for deputy” of such a politician.
“Were you born in a test tube and became politicians?” said Volodin. “Where did you come from?”
