Israel is studying the issue of arms supplies to Ukraine, said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

During his interview with the French TV channel LCI, he was asked about the possibility and readiness of Tel Aviv to transfer weapons to Ukraine. It was about defensive weapons systems.

According to Netanyahu, his government is currently at the stage of studying the issue, and will be guided by “its own national interests.”

He recalled that the previous government also studied the issue and ruled out military supplies, but he intends to figure it out on his own.

“We are on the side of Ukraine. We are studying this issue in accordance with our national interests,” Netanyahu said.

Earlier, The Times of Israel, citing its sources, reported that Netanyahu had promised French President Emmanuel Macron to supply Ukraine with “military stuff.” At the same time, according to the publication, the Israeli prime minister said in Paris during a conversation with the French leader that “he cannot go too far without provoking Russia.” The Netanyahu administration did not comment on the publication.
