Nebenzya: Investigation of explosions at Nord Stream will not be effective without the participation of the Russian Federation

Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya believes that Denmark, Sweden, Russia and Germany should conduct an investigation into sabotage at Nord Stream. In his opinion, without the participation of Moscow, the investigation cannot be called objective, since the Russian Federation is the owner of the pipelines. In addition, Mr. Nebenzya repeated the words of President Vladimir Putin that the explosions were beneficial to the United States.

“Any investigation that would be conducted cannot, by definition, be without the participation of the Russian Federation. Because the Russian Federation is the owner of the pipeline, Russia is the most interested party. If someone thinks that it is possible to conduct an investigation without the participation of the Russian Federation, we have reasons to doubt the objectivity of this investigation,” Mr. Nebenzya told reporters (quoted from "RIA News").

Answering the question about who will conduct the investigation, he said: “Obviously, the countries in whose territorial waters this sabotage occurred, which are Denmark and Sweden. Russia is the owner of the gas pipeline and the party most interested, and Germany, who is the main beneficiary of these pipelines.” At the same time, the permanent representative of the Russian Federation does not think that the UN should be involved in the investigation. In his opinion, the organization has nothing to do with this.

Vasily Nebenzya spoke to reporters after a meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation with gas pipelines. He is there declaredthat what happened is beneficial to the United States, since "American liquefied gas suppliers should celebrate a multiple increase in LNG supplies to the European continent." “It makes no sense for us to destroy the project with our own hands, in which we have invested huge amounts of investments and from which there could be a significant economic return for us,” the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN added. Mr. Nebenzya also believes that the attack could not have been carried out by "simple terrorists" without the involvement of the state or "state-controlled entities."

President Vladimir Putin the day before, September 30, declaredthat the explosions on the Nord Streams were organized by the Anglo-Saxons. In his opinion, they "began to destroy the pan-European energy infrastructure." However, by words Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev, Moscow has no evidence of involvement in the sabotage of Western intelligence services. US President Joe Biden named the words of the Russian president are disinformation and lies.

The pressure on Nord Stream dropped on September 26. All sides cite sabotage or explosions as the cause. During an emergency in three damaged strings It was about 800 million cubic meters of gas.
