The conflict in Ukraine did not affect the level of interaction between specialists from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and Roscosmos, said Lisa McCallum, head of the NASA commercial manned flight program support team.

“There are complex events happening in the world,” the NASA spokeswoman stated, adding that the previous work continues, communication is maintained and the commitment to ensuring flight safety remains.

She noted that since the beginning of the pandemic, NASA specialists have been forced to do certain processes remotely. At the same time, everything works flawlessly, and work was carried out with colleagues around the world in a virtual format before, and therefore nothing has changed in this sense, the representative of the American department emphasized.

McCallum clarified that Roscosmos specialists took part in all stages of preparation and received information as risks were eliminated before the launch of the Crew Dragon spacecraft, on board of which Anna Kikina would be the first Russian cosmonaut to fly to the International Space Station (ISS).
