Naryshkin suggested moving to a single history course in schools

The head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), chairman of the Russian Historical Society (RIO), Sergei Naryshkin, proposed moving from the History of Russia and General History courses to a single integrated history course in schools. This is stated in his column "Rossiyskaya Gazeta".

He indicated that it was important to maintain the full content of the two previous training courses. But it is necessary to formulate the textbooks in such a way that the history of Russia is considered against the background of general history. Naryshkin also believes that schools should pay more serious attention to the study of the history of their small homeland.
