Moscow Mundep Kharaidze wins elections while remaining under house arrest

Ketevan Kharaidze, a municipal deputy who has been under house arrest since last summer, won the election in Moscow’s Tverskoy District. She announced this on her Facebook page (owned by the banned and extremist Meta).

In the previous municipal elections, Ketevan Kharaidze was nominated by the Yabloko party, she was also nominated for the State Duma elections in 2021, already being arrested. On June 19, 2021, she was charged with fraud in the amount of 15 million rubles. and placed in jail. According to the investigation, Ketevan Kharaidze deprived Muscovites of the right to housing by preventing the commissioning of an elite residential complex in the Tverskoy district. Later, Ketevan Kharaidze was placed under house arrest.
