The Moscow Exchange has updated the list of shares included in the blue chips index. The shares of the foreign issuer of the gold mining company Polymetal are excluded from the index calculation base. The index will include MTS securities, follows from materials financial organization.

“Blue Chips” is a conventional designation for the shares of the largest and most liquid companies with stable profitability indicators. With securities of this category, the bulk of trading operations are carried out on stock exchanges.

After the start of the military operation in Ukraine, Polymetal shares fell by about 80%. The minimum value of the company’s securities was recorded at the end of July, when the cost of an ordinary share of Polymetal fell to 211 rubles. (compared to 1125 rubles in mid-February).

MTS shares also fell after February. The minimum value of the share was fixed on February 24 – 155 rubles. However, on May 18, after the news about dividends approved by the Board of Directors of MTS, the company’s shares grew up more than 20%, up to 270 rubles. As of today, November 25, the company’s shares are trading at around 234 rubles. for a security.
