Moscow “Dynamo” in the west is trying to get close to the leader – St. Petersburg SKA not so long ago who defeated our neighbors in the Far East region with a score of 6:1. This is facilitated by the fact that before Khabarovsk, the “white-blue” won three victories in a row and, apparently, the Muscovites do not intend to stop. “Amur” arrived in the capital, occupying the ninth line in the east, before that Khabarovsk were defeated by Vityaz near Moscow. The game ended with the score 1:3 and it seemed that it couldn’t get any worse. But that’s just how it seemed.

For this match, both head coaches gave rest to their main goalkeepers. At Dynamo, Konstantin Volkov got into the goal, at Amur, Janis Kalnins. The first one was lucky, the second not so much. In the initial period, the struggle was fairly equal – Dynamo attacked, Amur lay down under the throws and counterattacked. Nothing foreshadowed trouble, but ten seconds before the break, Eric O’Dell unpacks the gates of Janis, of course, the best player of this match. It continued until the dangerous exit of Yaroslav Likhachev, who could have evened the score, but “forgave” Konstantin Volkov, after which the Moscow team began to act more cautiously. The Khabarovsk team could have stepped up the pressure and still take the initiative in their own hands, but in the last second of the period, Amur had six outfield players on the ice at once. So the Khabarovsk team had to start the third period in the minority.

Who do you think realized the numerical advantage? Eric O’Dell already after 35 seconds makes a hat-trick. Almost the entire top three took part in the superbly played attack, including Maxim Sushko, who scored three goals in the last match. After the opponent was sent off, Amur tried to convert the majority, moreover, seven minutes before the end of the match, the Tigers’ coaching staff even removed the goalkeeper, but Dynamo played very well in defense. When the lineups are leveled, O’Dell, who has caught the courage, makes poker, leaving the guests not the slightest chance to recoup. There was hope for a “goal of prestige”, but it did not come true. Moreover, in the 56th minute, Dynamo further increases the lead by scoring the fifth goal against Amur. Andrei Mironov excelled. The result of the match was 5:0 in favor of Dynamo Moscow.

I think in the second period the opponent completely outplayed us, although we also created opportunities. Maybe we missed one goal “O’Dell showed me how to use opportunities.
