On October 1, residents of the Arkhangelsk region became participants in the All-Russian Day of Walking. The central start took place in the capital of Pomorye at the stadium “Trud”
More than a thousand northerners took part in the All-Russian Walking Day. The event is held as part of the program to promote the development of mass sports “Olympic Country” and on the initiative of the Russian Olympic Committee.
Before the start, the Nord Arena cheerleading team held a fun warm-up for the participants of the competition. And then the athletes overcame the distance of 2022 meters.
Walking is an affordable, truly popular sport. Every year it becomes more and more popular: walking along the embankment, you can see how many people walk with special sticks and go in for sports.
At the finish line, all athletes were awarded commemorative diplomas and medals of the Russian Olympic Committee.
The regional Ministry of Sports noted that the sports festival was held with the support of the regional public organization “Olympic Council of the Arkhangelsk Region” and the regional center for sports training “Vodnik”.
