SIBUR CEO Mikhail Karisalov said that against the backdrop of Western sanctions, more than 700 enterprises from Europe refused to work with the company. According to him, SIBUR managed to replace 90% of the previously supplied raw materials.

“About 700 European organizations have refused to work with us in the regime, as they say, of self-sanctions. And why do we need them – these are small amounts of special chemicals, but at the same time the most important catalysts, some spare parts, suppliers of technologies, licenses, ”he specified during the Tyumen Industrial and Energy Forum (TASS quote).

SIBUR, as Mr. Karisalov said, had to replace over 500 items of European products. “Butyllithium is produced in two countries of old Europe. We considered that we had two keys – Germany and Great Britain. It turned out that at one moment they could stop deliveries in a coordinated manner,” he concluded.

Due to Western sanctions in April, SIBUR proposed the government to freeze ruble prices for raw materials for petrochemistry, Kommersant learned. Then the company predicted that the weakening of the currency could reduce its cash flow by 200 billion rubles.

On the consequences of sanctions for SIBUR – in the material “Kommersant” “SIBUR was knocked off course”.
