Mishustin spoke about the allocation of 1.5 billion rubles for equipment for pediatric medicine

For the development of pediatric medicine in 2022, about 300 units of medical and laboratory equipment were purchased for a total amount of almost 1.5 billion rubles. This was announced by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a speech in the State Duma with a report on the work of the government over the past year.

Mikhail Mishustin drew attention to the fact that last year an expanded neonatal screening program was launched, which allows diagnosing 40 congenital and hereditary diseases at an early stage. According to him, this program will save several thousand children annually. “Previously, such screening was available only in pilot regions. This year, mass examinations of newborns began throughout the country. This program will continue. Free for citizens,” he added.

At the same time, Mr. Mishustin noted that for the high quality of pediatric medicine in the country, not only diagnosis is important, but also timely treatment. “To help children with serious, rare diseases, a special fund called the Circle of Kindness was created at the initiative of the president. It has been around for about two years. But in such a short time, support has already been provided to more than 5,000 children,” the Prime Minister said.
