Mishustin said that the West failed to exclude Russia from the world economy

Despite the risks, the collective West has not succeeded in excluding Russia from the global economy, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting on the draft federal budget for 2023 and the planning period of 2024 and 2025.

“Obviously, we will continue to be squeezed out of our usual sales directions. This should be taken into account when drawing up plans for the future, not forgetting about our own strategic tasks,” Mishustin said (quote according to RIA Novosti).

The prime minister stressed that the government will continue to work on adaptation and restructuring of the country’s economy. “We will support the reorientation of exports to expand our ties with friendly states. To build production chains within the country and seek to increase the level of our technological and economic sovereignty,” Mishustin concluded.

September 7 during the plenary session at the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF), Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the peak of the most difficult situation in the Russian economy has been passed. According to him, budget expenditures by the end of 2022 will be 20% higher than in 2021, and the decline “if there is, then insignificant” – 2% of GDP. “Our state finances have stabilized, I want to note that this year’s budget will be drawn up with a surplus of almost half a trillion rubles, somewhere under 485 billion, despite all the gloomy forecasts,” the head of state concluded.
