Mishustin announced the recovery of growth in real incomes of Russians in the fourth quarter

In the fourth quarter of 2022, the growth of real incomes of the population in Russia recovered, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said, speaking with a report on the work of the government before the State Duma. At the same time, at the end of the year, the indicator decreased.

“Due to support measures, the unemployment rate has decreased. And in December it was fixed at a historical minimum - 3.7%, and in January of this year - 3.6%. Despite a slight decline year-on-year, according to Rosstat, since the fourth quarter, the growth of people's real money incomes has resumed,” said Mr. Mishustin. The speech is broadcast on the website of the State Duma.

In 2022, the real disposable income of the population decreased, according to Rosstat, by 1% against an increase of 3.2% in 2021, which was lower than the forecast of the Ministry of Economy (2.2%). Growth at the end of the year could become the result of a decrease in inflation, an increase in income from entrepreneurship and shadow incomes.
