Mishustin announced the goal of bringing new regions to the all-Russian level in eight years

The main guideline for the government’s work is the integration of new regions of the Russian Federation and the achievement of an all-Russian level of socio-economic development in them in the next eight years. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin during the opening of the strategic session “Integration of new regions”.

“The head of state instructed to integrate them (DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. – Vedomosti) into a single economic, legal, educational, cultural space of our country and bring them to the all-Russian level in the next eight years, this is the main guideline of our work” , – said the Prime Minister (quote by Interfax).

Mishustin recalled the developed program for the socio-economic development of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. In particular, its measures are aimed at preserving jobs, launching additional capacities and further supporting various sectors of the economy, he said. In the future, the agricultural sector is expected to become “one of the main drivers of development and employment” in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, Mishutin added.

In December 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin urged to bring the annexed territories to the all-Russian indicators by 2030. In February of this year, he again declared about the need to do this “on the horizon of the current decade, the sooner the better.” At the same time, the head of state added, this process should not be “stretched out.”

On September 30 last year, Putin and the leaders of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions signed agreements on the regions joining Russia. The head of state stressed that residents of the annexed territories “become citizens of the Russian Federation forever.” On October 5, he signed federal laws admitting four new subjects to the country.
