Mishustin announced comfortable working conditions for foreign companies in Russia

Russia has created the necessary conditions for the work of foreign companies, including businesses from unfriendly states. This statement was made by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin during a speech in the State Duma with a report on the work of the government in 2022.

“We created all the necessary conditions for the work of those companies that see their future in Russia. Including for foreign business from unfriendly states. Despite all the restrictions, the denial of property rights, and the discriminatory measures that Russian business faced in the West, foreign companies have worked and work comfortably with us,” he stressed.

Mishustin added that Russia is "always open to promising projects" and will support businesses that decide to work in the country. He noted that in the event that foreign brands leave the Russian market, the government "will protect the interests of our people."

In early January, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin declaredthat 75.9% of foreign companies remained in Russia. In his opinion, this speaks of the business' faith in "good prospects for the development" of the Russian economy. Volodin noted that foreign companies that have left the market "suffer billions of dollars in costs."

In February, Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated on the huge losses of foreign companies that “under pressure from their governments” left the Russian market. According to him, many of them, including those whom he knows personally, do it without pleasure.
