Mishustin announced a record harvest in Russia this year - Kommersant
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that this year all indicators for most important agricultural products were successfully met. According to him, Russia has become one of the four largest meat producers in the world. He also noted the importance of supporting agriculture in border regions.
“It is important that now this industry has practically shown record harvests. We are waiting for this year’s results, but all indicators for most important products - meat, fish, vegetable oil, sugar, grain - have been met,” Mr. Mishustin said at a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Rosselkhozbank Boris Listov (quote from "RIA Novosti").
The Prime Minister added that it is very important to support companies that “are at the forefront of the most important areas of agriculture.” He explained that we are talking about selection, poultry farming, production of flour, milk and meat processing.
The Russian Ministry of Agriculture plans to create a unified federal soil map of agricultural lands - it is proposed to include a clause about this in the state program “Land”, which will be in effect from 2022.
