Bills to abolish the decriminalization of the import of unregistered medicines approved by the WHO into the Russian Federation will limit attempts to gray import. The Russians will be able to continue to import drugs for personal use into the country if there is evidence, said Assistant Minister of Health Alexei Kuznetsov.

The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted in the first reading a package of two bills – they propose to remove the relevant wording from the law. The adoption of the bill, according to Kuznetsov, will limit the attempts of gray imports into our country of medicines and medical devices “with unconfirmed safety and from dubious sources.” But at the same time, the Russians will be able to continue to import medicines and medical devices for personal use without obstacles, Kuznetsov told reporters. “If there are confirmed indications for their use,” the assistant to the head of the relevant ministry emphasized.
