American corporation Microsoft released Windows 11 24H2 update with a number of new features in the Explorer and Start menus, as well as other innovations. The update uses the method of completely replacing the operating system and will only be offered to those users whose computers fully meet the system requirements.

The Phone Link app has been added to the sidebar of the Start menu, which allows you to display the status of your smartphone's battery, and also shows notifications, messages, calls and photos from your phone. Users with HDR-capable monitors will now be able to switch color profiles in the settings section.

In Explorer, it is now possible to combine favorites, recents, and shared files in the form of tabs, and the display of copy, rename, and paste icons has been improved. You can also now create TAR and 7z archive files.

The date and time display has been simplified and the year indication has been removed, and new power saving modes have been added for laptops. Now you can more easily change the direction of mouse scrolling, and support for Bluetooth LE Audio and Wi-Fi 7 has also been added. Developers have access to use the Sudo command.

The Teams apps for corporate and professional accounts have been combined. Outlook has now replaced the Mail and Calendar apps, and Copilot has become an app that doesn't interact with Windows settings. Performance has been improved on the latest AMD desktop processors.
