Medvedev read Stalin’s telegram from 1941 about the duty to the motherland to the heads of defense enterprises

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, read out a telegram from Joseph Stalin dated 1941 during a meeting of the working group of the Military-Industrial Commission to control the production of popular weapons. Previously he saidthat, with the help of telegrams, he plans to “cheer up” the directors of Russian factories.

The video of the meeting was published in Telegram channel Dmitry Medvedev. He stated the need to pay attention to how “such work” was evaluated during the Great Patriotic War. In this regard, he read out a telegram from Joseph Stalin dated September 17, 1941.

“I ask you to honestly and on time fulfill orders for the supply of tank hulls at the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant. Now I ask and hope that you will fulfill your duty to the Motherland. In a few days, if you turn out to be violators of your duty to the Motherland, I will begin to smash you as criminals who neglect the honor and interests of their Motherland. We cannot tolerate our troops suffering at the front from a lack of tanks, while you in the far rear cool off and do nothing, ”the telegram says.

Dmitry Medvedev considered what he read as proof that production cannot be perfect. However, according to him, the obligations of defense industry enterprises in the context of a special military operation should be made up of “ten-day” rather than annual tasks. In addition, he stressed, it is necessary to complete all the tasks that were not completed last year.

“Colleagues, I want you to hear me. And remember the words of the Generalissimo. As you understand, the results of such appeals were quite impressive. And if there were none, then you yourself understand what happened,” Dmitry Medvedev concluded.
