Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev commented on his Telegram channel on the assumption of Liz Truss as British Prime Minister. “Changing of the guard in Britain: the freak-uncle is gone, the freak-aunt has come,” the politician wrote.

Medvedev called Liz Truss “an incompetent and mediocre thermonuclear Russophobe who has no elementary ideas about politics, history, geography, but who wants to defeat the Russian Federation in everything.” He added that Truss “mows under Margaret Thatcher, while not possessing her abilities, and expects to overcome the energy crisis and inflation, which are a consequence of her own sanctions.”

According to Medvedev, Liz Truss “will quarrel with everyone, fail everything and leave in disgrace,” like her predecessor, Boris Johnson, who announced on July 7 that he had decided to resign. In his post as deputy chairman of the Security Council, he called him “shaggy Boriska.” “Well, in Britain, famous for its traditions, it seems that another one is appearing,” Medvedev wrote.

On June 7, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his resignation. The election resulted in Liz Truss becoming the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and taking office on 6 September.

Moscow said that they see no prerequisites for positive changes in relations between Russia and Britain in connection with the figure of the new British Prime Minister.
