Media holding Groupe M6 received offers to sell shares from several magnates

Several businessmen immediately made an offer to buy a 48% stake in the French media holding Groupe M6 from the German holding Bertelsmann, which is leaving the French market. According to Bloombergreferring to their own sources, media mogul Stefan Courbi, Silvio Berlusconi, Xavier Niel and Daniel Kretinsky put forward their proposals this week.

Mr. Courby, according to the agency, filed his application together with the chairman of the board of one of the largest logistics companies in the world CMA CGM Group, Rodolphe Saade, and with the president of the Fimalac holding, Marc Ladre de Lasharière. For each share of M6 businessmen are ready to pay €20, which is 39% higher than the market price of the company's shares at the close of trading on Friday. In total, they are willing to pay €1.22 billion in cash.

In addition, the Italian telecommunications company MFE-MediaForEurope NV, controlled by the country's former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, filed an earlier application for the acquisition of a 48% stake in Groupe M6. Berlusconi teamed up with French media tycoon Xavier Niel to acquire a stake in M6.

Finally, the Polish billionaire Daniel Kretinsky claims the same asset, Bloomberg claims.

The publication does not specify how much Berlusconi, Niel and Kretinsky are willing to pay for the asset.

None of the named applicants for the purchase of Bertelsmann's stake in M6 has yet confirmed the fact of negotiations.
