Mayakovka opened the season

“It was fabulous. Favorite idols, new faces, a young team, the incomparable Svetlana Nemolyaeva, the most handsome man in the theatrical environment Igor Kostolevsky, a new season with the new artistic director Yegor Peregudov and a new format for holding the first meeting, as well as the warm friendly words of the artists about the theater and colleagues "- such is the impression my colleague, who first visited the gathering of the troupe.

"Mayakovka" started with a new format of the gathering of the troupe: in two acts with an intermission. “Get used to it. I love long performances,” said director Yegor Peregudov, 39, who was appointed in May this year.

We started with a skit: in honor of the anniversaries - the staff of the theater, young artists sang their own compositions in the style of chain couplets, Russian romances and ballads. For example, this: “Kostolevsky himself flies around the city and waits until the last bastard falls asleep. For each he has 10 awards, puts the cherished "Mask" under the pillow.

Igor Kostolevsky and Mikhail Filippov have served at Mayakovka for 50 years. On August 15, Filippov celebrated his 75th birthday. The extraordinary Tatyana Orlova has been working in the theater for 45 years.

“I’m drawn, I miss when I don’t play in a play, I miss. I thought that with age this would probably pass, I would want to lie in bed more, look out the window, read something. But it doesn't. I still want to come to the theater and play” – this is how people’s artist Svetlana Nemolyaeva sees herself and her place in the theater.

Then already venerable artists congratulated the representatives of workshops, tailoring, dressing, dressing room, and further down the list. “They plow in, and we skim off the cream,” Anatoly Lobotsky cheerfully reported.

The new director (she was the deputy of the former director) also received her “minute of fame” - Ekaterina Lapshina, who celebrated her first decade at Mayakovka. The new team also included: head designer Mila Denyova, chief artist Vladimir Arefiev and lighting designer Andrey Abramov.

The new artistic director announced plans for the new season: “The first thing that awaits us on the Main Stage is the anniversary performance of “History” (premiered on October 29, on the centenary day of the Mayakovsky Theater). Birthday is always about gifts. I asked our folk and honored artists to choose the stories they would like to play. Everyone chose something different: sad, funny, and lyrical. And what they once already played, and what they always wanted to play. Get a stage almanac ... "

The next premiere on the Main Stage is a lyrical performance by Yegor Peregudov based on novels and short stories by Marquez. “Marquez’s magical realism is close to me as a way of interacting with reality — when you can transform the world around you with the power of your imagination,” said Yegor Peregudov, presenting the future premiere. “Remembering my unfortunate…” is Igor Kostolevsky surrounded by many representatives of the fair sex – in general, the whole color of Mayakovka.

Rehearsals of Ostrovsky's "Forest" will begin on the big stage - this will be the eighth production in Mayakovka based on the plays of the classic. It is this musical performance staged by Peregudov that will open the next season.

In February, a performance based on the play by the German expressionist playwright Büchner "Woyzeck" staged by Philip Gurevich will be released on Sretenka. Director Vera Kamyshnikova, head of the stage speech department at GITIS, will stage the play "Faust" based on Turgenev (premiere in April). Director Yevgeny Zakirov will stage a performance based on the stories of Mikhail Elizarov. Yegor Peregudov announced the future production of film director Sergei Ursulyak: he "has been wanting to stage some kind of work for a long time." But what it will be and when is not yet clear.

On the Small Stage there will be work in the genre of "experimental theatre", as well as "lectures by theater critics and culturologists on the history of theater from different countries, online and offline meetings with foreign authors, translators, publishers." There will also be a performance from the Mobile Art Theatre.

And the "icing on the cake": director's laboratories with readings and sketches, "game theatre". Five young directors will present readings of foreign plays. “So that we have an idea of the current trends in the global contemporary theater. For this project, the theater plans to order a translation of the most relevant and still unknown works for the Russian audience,” announced Mila Denyova.

On the occasion of the centenary, it will be possible to take an audio walk with Vladimir Mayakovsky and theater actors along the nearby lanes and boulevards, walk past Stanislavsky's house in Leontievsky, the church where Pushkin was married. Together with Svetlana Nemolyaeva, Igor Kostolevsky, Anna Ardova, Olga Prokofieva, it will be possible to cross the threshold of a theater university and feel like applicants.

Good luck, Mayakovka, in the age-old season!
