Matvienko: Russia is ready to stop hostilities on its own terms

Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said Russia was ready to stop further hostilities on its own terms. At the same time, she stressed that the territories included in the Russian Federation cannot be the subject of negotiations.
“When I spoke about negotiations, then, of course, their subject cannot be the entry into the Russian Federation of four new subjects,” Matviyenko told the media. – It’s out of the question. This is already part of our Russia.” The chairman of the upper chamber noted that “we are ready to stop further hostilities, but on the terms that Russia will offer.”
Matvienko is now in Indonesia and is taking part in the events of the “parliamentary G20”. Speaking at the plenary session there, the speaker of the Federation Council called on the Ukrainian delegation “right today” in Jakarta to sit down at the negotiating table in a parliamentary format.
Matvienko noted in an interview with journalists that there was no reaction, since “Ukraine is not free in its decisions.”
