Markov allowed Poroshenko to return to the post of President of Ukraine

Russian political scientist Sergei Markov admitted that Ukrainian politician, 58-year-old chairman of the European Solidarity party Petro Poroshenko could again become president of Ukraine. Let us recall that Poroshenko was the head of the Ukrainian state from June 2014 to May 2019.

“Poroshenko plans to run for president of Ukraine. And he may become president of Ukraine again,” Markov wrote in his Telegram channel.

Now the rating of the current President Vladimir Zelensky is falling. True, this does not increase the low rating of Poroshenko himself. But the expert believes that the ex-president may ultimately lose the votes of a number of voters who now support former commander-in-chief Valery Zaluzhny. According to Markov, Zaluzhny will be forgotten because he has fallen out of public attention.

“Poroshenko’s potential electorate - radical nationalists, Russophobes - has increased significantly during the North Military District,” Markov also notes. He admits that Poroshenko may also be supported by the US administration, since they are disappointed in Zelensky.

As for the canceled elections in Ukraine, the political scientist predicts that after the truce is concluded, the United States and the EU will demand Kyiv to hold them.

Markov emphasized that Poroshenko has a party, media resources, money, he is energetic, has not lost his taste for politics and “dreams of taking revenge on Zelensky.”

Regarding Poroshenko’s accusations of corruption, according to Markov, Zelensky’s team showed much more corruption, therefore, compared to Zelensky, “Poroshenko is already cleaner.”
