The governor of the Magadan region, Sergei Nosov, demanded to clarify the situation with the conscription of students who served in the army.
The Ministry of Defense previously stated that students would not be subject to partial mobilization. At the same time, in the military commissariat of the Magadan region, in response to a government request, they said that students who had served could still be called up.
The governor noted that students receive the knowledge and profession that the national economy needs. He believes that they should not be called.
“It was always like this when you were drafted into the army. If the same applies to partial mobilization, then the approaches should be the same. Full-time students are not called up,” Nosov said.
He added that the interpretation on the ground can be subjective, so clarifications and clarifications are needed from the military prosecutor’s office on the actions of the military commissars on the ground.
