French President Emmanuel Macron, according to BFM.tv, told reporters at the UN General Assembly that after the announcement of partial mobilization in Russia, all countries should “put maximum pressure on Vladimir Putin.”

Macron believes that Western sanctions should force the Russian president to stop conducting a special military operation in Ukraine.

Macron also noted that the new steps of the Kremlin lead to “further isolation of Russia.”

Earlier, during his speech from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly, Macron accused Russia of returning to the era of imperialism and said that countries that remained neutral to the conflict in Ukraine thus support “new imperialism.”

Recall that after the start of Russia’s special operation, Western countries imposed large-scale sanctions against Moscow and began to provide military assistance to Ukraine. France also supplies Kyiv with weapons. Moscow has repeatedly stated that pumping Ukraine with weapons leads to an escalation of the conflict. The Kremlin also emphasized that Western sanctions would not be able to affect the goals and objectives of the special operation, which would be carried out.
