If the Armed Forces of Ukraine use depleted uranium shells against Russian troops, then Moscow’s response will be terrible, said Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

“As soon as these ammunition explodes on the positions of the Russian troops, you will see that the answer will be terrible. It will be a lesson for the whole planet, ”- leads his words TASS.

Lukashenka noted that Russia has not only depleted uranium, and Moscow can supply shells with “real uranium” to Minsk. At the same time, the very supply of such shells by the UK to Ukraine, the Belarusian president considered only “talk”, and only madmen can start such a process. In his opinion, it is necessary to move towards a peaceful settlement, not escalation.

March 20 British Deputy Secretary of Defense Annabelle Goldie informedthat the kingdom plans to supply Ukraine with tank shells with depleted uranium. According to her, the ammunition is highly effective against modern tanks and armored vehicles.

Commenting on the words of the British politician, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that London “has lost its bearings” in how its actions undermine strategic stability around the world. Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that in the case of deliveries, Russia will have to respond “appropriately”.

Concern about the situation is also expressed at the UN. “We have expressed concern for years about any use of depleted uranium, given the consequences of such use. And this applies to anyone who supplies such weapons, ”said Farhan Haq, Deputy Representative of the UN Secretary General.
