Lebanon said ex-Hezbollah leader Nasrallah agreed to a truce before his death



Former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah agreed to a ceasefire with Israel shortly before his death, Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bu Habib said in an interview with the agency Anadolu.

“Yes, he agreed. The Lebanese side also gave its consent,” said Bu Habib.

He added that consultations were held with Hezbollah, and the speaker of the Lebanese parliament, Nabih Berri, also spoke with representatives of this organization. In addition, information was transmitted to representatives of the United States and France.

At the end of September, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrault said at a meeting of the UN Security Council that Paris, together with Washington, was working on a proposal for a 21-day temporary pause in hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.

Also, a number of countries, including the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, as well as the European Union, issued a statement calling on Israel and Hezbollah to cease fire to create conditions for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict .

Hassan Nasrallah was killed on September 27 as a result of an Israeli airstrike on Beirut.
