Latvia will stop issuing work visas to Russians

The Latvian Parliament approved amendments to the Immigration Law of the Republic, according to which Russians will not be eligible for long-term work visas.

It is also reported that a residence permit for up to five years for Russians and Belarusians can be issued by order of the head of the Latvian Foreign Ministry, provided that it "corresponds to the interests of Latvia and international legal norms", and will also be associated with humanitarian purposes.

Since September 19, Latvia, as well as Lithuania, Estonia and Poland have banned Russians with Schengen visas from entering their territory.
