The Kursk regional government has denied another video distributed on behalf of the region's governor, Alexey Smirnov. In the recording, which is a deepfake, the official talks about the successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) and asks to send forces from the Kherson region to the region.

"Ukrainian special services continue to create fakes. Once again, they took the previous video and added their own soundtrack. During this time, they could have learned to fake a voice more convincingly or at least learned the names of the Kursk region districts," the report said. Telegram channel government of the Kursk region (in the video, the Korenevsky district of the Kursk region is called Koreneevsky.)

Since August 6, there have been battles with the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region. A counter-terrorist operation regime and a federal state of emergency have been declared in the region.
