"Kuban" took second place in the Cup of Russia in rugby on the snow

Krasnodar "Kuban" became the silver medalist of the Russian Rugby Cup in the snow. The tournament with the participation of 13 teams was held on January 29 in Zelenograd.

At the group stage, the Krasnodar team played 2 matches, winning both with a dry score. First, "Kuban" beat the UGPS Ministry of Emergency Situations from St. Petersburg 14:0, then defeated the Moscow "Phoenix" - 13:0.

In the semi-finals, the team of Maxim Amonov defeated the Kazan "Zilant" 9:3. In the decisive match, one of the leading clubs of the country, VVA-Podmoskovye, turned out to be stronger than Krasnodar. The team from Monino was stronger 8:2.

Played in the Cup of Russia and another team from the Krasnodar Territory - "Argat" (Ust-Labinsk). The team finished in sixth place. In group A, the Kuban rugby players defeated Varyag from Veliky Novgorod 7:2 and lost to the future winners from VVA-Podmoskovye 1:9. In the tournament for the 5th-8th places, Argat defeated the Moscow Slava (9:2) and lost to the other metropolitan team Torpedo (3:4).

The third place in the Cup was taken by Vityaz from Perm, who beat Zilant 6:4. A similar men's tournament, which took place the day before, was won by Slava Moscow.

Ahead of the "Kuban" matches of the spring part of the championship of Russia in rugby-7. Following the results of 3 rounds, the team takes 4th place in the standings.
