The championship and championship of the Southern Federal District in athletics took place in the Gulkevichi district. Kuban athletes won 12 medals at the tournament.
“Athletes from the Krasnodar Territory won 12 medals, including 6 gold medals, at the championship and championship of the Southern Federal District in cross-country discipline. Our region is one of the best thanks to its excellent athletics school with great traditions, coaching and teaching staff,” noted Deputy Governor of the region Alexander Vlasov.
At the championship, Kuban athletes took second place overall as a team in cross-country. Among juniors and juniors under 20 years old at the championship of the Southern Federal District, the region became the first in team competitions, among athletes under 18 years old the Kuban team became second, and in the age category under 16 years old - third.
In addition, at the same time, regional and district athletics cross-country competitions were held in the municipality, dedicated to the memory of the Hero of Russia, commander of the Russian Knights aerobatic team, Igor Tkachenko. Athletes from Krasnodar, Gulkevich and Ust-Labinsk regions showed excellent results at the competition.
