Criminal case on abuse of powers of the former vice-president for regional development GK PIK Alexander Lefel was terminated due to the reconciliation of the parties, informed “Kommersant”.

The second person involved in the criminal case is the former head of one of the divisions of the PIK Group of Companies, Nikolai Vasiliev. According to the publication, reconciliation of the parties was achieved after the investigation received the results of two construction and technical and two accounting forensic examinations, due to which the amount of damages imputed to former top managers in the amount of 140 million rubles. has been reduced. Both defendants agreed to reimburse it to PIK, but neither the injured party nor representatives of the defense announced the final amount. The criminal case was dismissed on non-rehabilitating grounds.

Lefel detained On October 8, 2021, later the Tverskoy District Court arrested him until December 7. But already on December 6, the court translated a top manager from a pre-trial detention center under house arrest. The security service established facts of abuse of Lefel in 2017-2018. when conducting tender procedures and concluding contracts with contractors for the construction of a residential complex in St. Petersburg, including fraudulent spending of attracted funds from equity holders at the “zero” stage of construction. As Kommersant clarifies, Lefel and Vasilyev then refused to pay the declared amount of damage to PIK Group, and left the company of their own free will.

At the end of 2022, the investigation reclassified the criminal case against Lefel and Vasilyev from fraud on an especially large scale (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) to abuse of power (part 1 of article 201 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
