White House: US Will Not Give Kyiv Carte Blanche to Strike Russia

Washington is not going to lift restrictions on the Kyiv regime in terms of striking Russian territory, said John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the US National Security Council.

He noted that the position of the American administration in this regard remains unchanged. Therefore, Kirby noted, Kyiv will not receive a "carte blanche" for all options of strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation. According to him, this also applies to the foreseeable future.

According to him, one should not expect any significant statements in this context.

Earlier, the State Department stated that the United States has no intention of becoming a party to the conflict in Ukraine and does not intend to send its army units to Ukraine. Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov stated that the Americans will not be able to sit it out overseas if a conflict with the use of nuclear weapons begins in Europe.

On September 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin reported that NATO countries are currently not simply discussing the possibility of Kiev using Western long-range missiles, but are essentially deciding whether to directly engage in the conflict in Ukraine. The Russian head of state added that the direct participation of the North Atlantic Alliance in military actions changes their essence, and Moscow will be forced to make decisions based on the threats created in this way.
