Khabarovsk Territory will introduce restrictions on the work of migrants from 2025 – Kommersant
The Committee for Labor and Employment of the Khabarovsk Territory, on behalf of Governor Dmitry Demeshin, prepared a resolution limiting the use of migrant labor. It is expected that the measure will come into force in 2025. Region remained the only one in the Far Eastern Federal District where such restrictions have not yet been introduced.
As Mr. Demeshin himself clarified, a ban on attracting foreign citizens with patents is expected to be introduced, in particular, in public transport, including intercity traffic and taxis. Also, foreigners will be prohibited from working in enterprises providing electricity, gas and water supply services, or from working for individuals. The draft resolution is currently undergoing legal review.
“I have repeatedly spoken out in favor of the need for a sound response to the situation developing in the migration sphere - both earlier, while working in the Prosecutor General’s Office, and this summer, already as acting governor of the Khabarovsk Territory. It's time to move on to concrete actions. Professions that fall under the ban involve constant contact with people and directly relate to security issues,” wrote Dmitry Demeshin in Telegram.
In addition, the governor emphasized the need to attract additional resources to the regional economy on a systematic basis, and, first of all, relying on our own personnel, who “should receive priority rights to occupy all the niches we need.”
