In 2022, Kazakhstan increased its oil supplies, bypassing Russia. In total, 1.8 million tons of raw materials were exported via alternative routes last year, Reuters reports.

Compared to 2021, supplies of Kazakh oil bypassing Russia increased by 638,000 tons.

Astana mainly supplied raw materials bypassing the Russian Federation through Georgia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and China, while most of the oil was sent to China (1.26 million tons).

At the end of January, it became known that Kazakhstan intended to start delivering oil to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline through Russia.
