Kazakhstan has imposed a moratorium on arms exports

The authorities of Kazakhstan, which is part of the CSTO together with Russia, announced on August 27 a moratorium on arms exports for one year. Analysts agreed that the reason for this decision was to prevent the scandal over the supply of ammunition to Ukraine from Kazakhstan through third countries from growing.
In mid-August, Russian military telegram channels began broadcasting information about an allegedly planned deal for the sale of Soviet and Russian-made ammunition by the Kazakh company Technoexport. The information that appeared there was replete with details: the Jordanian company Black Water Supplies acted as the buyer, and the UK was called the final purchaser. Among the range of deliveries mentioned were ammunition for 120 mm mortars and Konkurs anti-tank systems, as well as 122 mm shells (for D-20 howitzers), 152 mm shells (for D-30 howitzers) and rockets for BM-21 Grad. Even the exact number of artillery shells was called – 20,000, missiles – 33,000. The entire batch was estimated at $ 46 million.
On August 21, publications appeared that representatives of Western organizations were looking for an air carrier for a large batch of missiles of an unidentified type for the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Jordanian Amman to Polish Rzeszow – a total of 7,000 tons of cargo on 14 flights on transport Il-76 and / or Boeing 747.
