Japanese clothing retail chain Uniqlo will close most of its stores in Russian shopping malls and leave five outlets in Russia, according to reports. “News” with reference to one of the commercial real estate brokers.

The publication found out that the company has already removed signs from several stores, for example, from a retail outlet in the Kashirskaya Plaza shopping center. Nadezhda Tsvetkova, head of CORE.XP retail space leasing, told the newspaper that Uniqlo is optimizing the number of its stores in Russia, but is not leaving the market.

Stores suspended work in Russia from March 21. Company announced about a temporary withdrawal from the Russian market amid the military operation in Ukraine. October 20 Uniqlo products appeared on sale on the Russian platform Lamoda – this was reported by the marketplace itself and the press service of the Japanese company.
