Over 3,000 IT professionals representing leading Russian companies (Yandex, Sberbank, Ozon, Avito, VTB, MTS, Gazprombank, Beeline, Kaspersky Lab, HSE, CROC, PSB) , gathered at the first IT`s Tinkoff on Ice, organized by Tinkoff Bank. The main condition for getting on the ice was work in the IT field, so only colleagues and like-minded people met at the rink.

More than 20 activities for every taste awaited guests. The most popular were quests that could be completed by a group or alone. For their successful completion, the organizers presented Tinkoff merch useful in the Russian winter: mittens, scarves, thermoses, socks.

The whole family was allowed on the ice, so surprises awaited not only adults, but also children: animators in costumes of superheroes and cartoon characters taught the kids to skate and played with them. In demand was “ice Quidditch” – a game of ice skating in which children were given brooms, and with the help of them they had to throw a soccer ball into the goal.

In the hockey box, master classes were held by the legends of Russian hockey: world and Russian champions, winners of the Gagarin Cup Alexei Tereshchenko, Igor Shchadilov and goalkeeper Alexander Eremenko. Beginners got acquainted with the basics of hockey skills, and experienced players received advice from professionals.

There were also food court zones, distribution of mulled wine, locations with various games – from curling with enameled teapots instead of stones to a giant jenga – and numerous places for relaxation and dancing.

IT people wouldn’t be themselves if they didn’t even try to exchange experiences at an entertainment event. It was possible to warm up after the ice runs in heated tents, where public discussions were held on the topics of the future of artificial intelligence and the creation of an attractive product for the client. They were moderated by representatives of Tinkoff, Yandex Lavka and VK.

Judging by the numerous reviews, Tinkoff’s efforts to rally the IT community in a non-standard format have yielded excellent results. IT people are waiting for new meetings in the most unexpected locations!
