In Italy, the court of the city of Arezzo ordered the health department of the southeastern provinces of Tuscany to pay monthly benefits to a married couple in which the wife unexpectedly gave birth to a child after voluntary sterilization.

As noted by la Repubblica, in the end, the woman gave birth to a daughter, while the couple has other children. A woman underwent a tubal ligation operation several years ago.

As a result, the court sided with the woman and ordered the State Department to pay compensation to the mother in the amount of 135 thousand euros. She will receive an allowance of 450 euros per month for 25 years.
