Fifteen years after the launch of the first iPhone, here is the iPhone 14. The smartphone may share the poster of Apple launches with an Apple Watch and AirPods, but it remains the undeniable star of the evening. . Or rather the morning in San Francisco, jet lag obliges.

iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are first of all larger screens than those of the previous generation. They have screens of 6.4 and 6.7 inches respectively. The new A15 chip, dedicated to the iPhone 13 Pro, is coming to the iPhone 14, for ever more advanced performance. The photo sensors are also redesigned to optimize shooting, including for selfies. Payment over 24 months

The iPhone 14 is sold for $799 and the iPhone 14 Plus for $899. In euros, it’s more expensive: 1019 euros for the iPhone 14 and 1169 euros for the iPhone 14 Plus. Above all, Apple offers a system of payment by installments.

Faced with the increase in prices in euros, attributable to the weakness of the currency against the dollars, Apple proposes to spread the payment 42.45 euros per month for 24 months for the iPhone 14 or 48.70 euros per month for two years for the iPhone 14 Plus.

iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max

iPhone 14 Pro comes in two screen sizes, 6.1 and 6.7 inches, for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Both are equipped with the latest generation A16 Bionic chip. A new feature is integrated into the pro range: the Dynamic Island. An overlay at the top of the screen that allows access to applications in the background, such as listening to music, alerts… In other words, Apple integrates the multifunction into its iPhone 14 Pro, as Samsung does for some of its models.

Apple has reinforced the telephoto lens of its photo and video sensors. Features that will appeal to photo professionals, more and more of whom are using their iPhone for shooting, including in 4K. With 48 MP, it is possible to zoom in on the details of a photo, without losing quality. It also has a wide-angle and promises to be more efficient, including in low light or in macro mode! The iPhone 14 Pro also has the Action world for capturing moving images, with a stabilizer.

The iPhone 14 Pro is sold for $999 and the Pro Max for $1099, an unchanged price (in dollars) from the previous generation. Beware of euros, this gives: 1329 euros for the iPhone Pro and 1479 euros for the iPhone Pro Max!!! Again, a payment spread over twelve months is offered, at the rate of 55.37 euros per month for the iPhone 14 Pro and 61.62 euros for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The extra satellite

For added security, all iPhone 14s can be located, even in white areas, thanks to a satellite connection. A small revolution in itself, which reinforces competition between traditional telecom operators and new satellite players. But this does not correspond to all uses… Thanks to a dedicated antenna, the iPhone 14 can connect to a satellite, enough to be able to send emergency messages and receive short information in a few seconds or minutes, depending on the cloud density. AirPods Pro

The AirPods are also equipped with noise reduction, to no longer be bothered by outside sounds. It’s also a way of not having to turn up the sound to escape extraneous noise. The “transparent” world also makes it possible to extend what is happening around you, with a new feature: it adapts. The most annoying noises (like that of a jackhammer!) are completely erased.

And for the dizzy, the AirPods Pro are locatable and their case has a small speaker that beeps to facilitate their location. They are priced at $249 and available from September 23.

Apple Watch Series 8

The Apple Watch has remained the best-selling smartwatch in the world for seven years. The group intends to maintain its rank with the Apple Watch Series 8, equipped with a slightly larger and brighter screen. It is available in eight different colors. The data is secure, encrypted and cannot be read by Apple, unless otherwise specified and the user wishes to share it with a third party such as a doctor.

The Apple Watch incorporates a new feature, Crash Detection. It is triggered when the wearer of the Apple Watch Series 8 is caught in a car accident, thanks to movement sensors capable of detecting the very particular force of an impact. Added to the microphone, GPS information, the Apple Watch triggers a call and checks if its wearer needs emergency intervention.

The Apple Watch Series 8 will be sold for $399 in its GPS version and $499 in its GSM version. Unchanged prices compared to the Series 7. And to be able to use the Apple Watch longer, a low consumption mode. It is accessible on all watches from the Series 4, to extend the duration of use up to 36 hours.
