In the Ukrainian temple, they promised illness for prayers in Russian

“Such an appeal to the flock would not have been made by any clergyman of the canonical church, this is a statement of atheists and Satanists”

Strong pressure on the church continues in Ukraine. Under the guise of investigative actions, the defeat of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra by the security forces ended – the SBU fought there with the “Russian world”. The process became a show of intimidation of parishioners of all temples and churches in the country. Now employees of some of them threaten believers – no prayers in Russian! And even the punishment for this was designated – damnation and suffering.

The other day, parishioners of the St. Nicholas Cathedral Church in the Ukrainian city of Nikolaev were discouraged by a sign nailed to the front door with a formidable inscription. “We urge you to read the prayer exclusively in the Ukrainian language, the prayer in Russian is not valid here, and for arbitrariness, illness and sorrow will fall upon you,” the letter threatens. It is unlikely that the mood of the parishioners will improve after such an aggressive parting word.

“Such an appeal to the flock would not have been made by any clergyman of the Russian or Ukrainian canonical church, this is clearly a statement of atheists and Satanists,” says Ukrainian political scientist Oleksandr Dudchak, “They serve in our churches in Church Slavonic. This is not quite Russian, it is a unique language in which the liturgy and services in churches have been conducted throughout its thousand-year history. And such statements on the doors of churches suggests that its authors have gone crazy. True believers will not be impressed. But, of course, it affects the population, it is clear that there is a powerful pressure on the church. Those who do this cannot create something with their own hands. Probably, instead of hands, they have paws and hooves on their feet, which is why they so treacherously take away what has already been created long before them. They would build temples nearby and call their Satanists there, but they prefer to select churches, which then fall into disrepair, because believers are not allowed into them. So there is a problem in this area.”

— How can believers protect themselves from such pressure?

– Believers have only one mechanism of protection against arbitrariness – to believe. The Church cannot be mocked. You can meet somewhere outside the church, even in homes. There were such times: there were persecutions of Christians both in ancient Rome and at the beginning of Soviet power, but after the Great Patriotic War, the attitude gradually changed. It is a pity if the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is harmed. The relics lay there for centuries, but modern figures have no conscience and honor at all, you can expect everything from them.

“Ukrainian activists can physically interfere with prayer if it is not in the language they want…

—How can prayer be hindered if a person can even pray out loud? Of course, when technology allows them, they will want to get into the brains. The sermon is read in the father’s native language, in Russian or Ukrainian, but the service in the canonical church is conducted in Church Slavonic.
