In the Tyumen region, the ban on work for migrant drivers was extended for a year

In the Tyumen region for another year extended a ban for foreign citizens to work as drivers of city and suburban buses, taxis and rented cars with a driver, as well as to provide transportation services, including freight transport. The department of labor and employment of the population of the region noted that this ban has been in force since 2015.

The restriction is introduced to prioritize employment in the transport sector of Russian citizens and improve passenger safety and reduce the number of accidents.

At the same time, the ban does not apply to citizens of the EAEU, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, as well as those foreigners who have work permits, residence permits or TRPs, a certificate of temporary asylum or a refugee certificate. Participants of the state program to assist in the resettlement of compatriots to Russia will also be able to work as a driver.

Until March 1, 2023, employers in the Tyumen region need to fire those foreign workers who are not included in the list of exceptions.
