The governor of the Kursk region bordering Ukraine, Roman Starovoit, at a meeting in the regional administration, said that officials will not hold New Year’s corporate parties.

“We do not hold any New Year’s corporate parties in our divisions and in the administration of the Kursk region. We are focusing on congratulating the young people of Kursk, especially those who need support,” said Roman Starovoit.

The authorities of the Kursk region have previously decided to abandon mass events, fireworks and festive New Year’s festivities. “We agreed that the decoration should be festive, but we will not spend money on the purchase of new equipment, we will use what we bought earlier, or what was contracted at the beginning of the year,” the head of the region recalled. He added that Christmas trees will be held for the young residents of the region, and special attention will be paid to the children of military personnel: “Every child should get the joy of waiting for a meeting with the New Year and Santa Claus.”

As “Kommersant” saidthe authorities of other regions of the country also decided to save in one form or another on the New Year holidays due to special military operation and partial mobilization.
