In Stavropol, patients complain about the lack of medicines for cancer patients

A patient who was diagnosed with prostate cancer and prescribed treatment with this drug once every 28 days complained about problems with obtaining the drug "Goserelin" in the local media. The drug is issued through the MHI. However, according to him, he had not received the previous injection with this medicine for 38 days. As a result, there is a delay, which can adversely affect his condition. According to the man, there is no Goserelin in the pharmacy at the oncology hospital. And this situation is repeated for more than a month.

In the official Telegram channel of the Ministry of Health of the Stavropol Territory, they promptly responded to the complaint, specifying that all preferential drugs are supplied to the regional clinical dispensary in batches, taking into account the storage conditions of the pharmacy at the oncology dispensary. “The fact is that the pharmacy has a very limited area, and it is not possible to store a large supply of each drug in it. Therefore, as this or that drug ends, new batches are brought up. If a prescription is issued by a doctor in the evening and the required drug is no longer available at the pharmacy, the medicine can be obtained according to the same prescription the next day, ”the explanation says.

Deputy Minister of Health of the Stavropol Territory Olga Listova also told Kommersant that Goserelin was "purchased in accordance with the applications of specialized oncological dispensaries." According to her, the drug is available and dispensed by prescription. In addition, the ministry "is carrying out an additional purchase of Goserelin to provide patients in January 2023."

Nevertheless, when discussing this topic in the Telegram of the Ministry of Health, one of the readers of the channel complained that the information that drugs are delivered to the pharmacy in parts is not entirely true. Another cancer drug, Aromasin, according to a subscriber of the Ministry of Health channel, “has never been supplied to a pharmacy, although a month has passed since the prescription was issued.”
