In South Africa, a nine-year-old boy caught a shark weighing 23 stone (a little over 146 kilograms). This writes the Daily Mirror.

Young Xandre de Beer has been fishing since the age of three with his father. Once he was already able to catch a shark, whose weight was 79 kilograms. The boy pulled it out for 40 minutes.

Xandre pulled out his new record catch for 2.5 hours. His father watched from the side and helped with advice. At the same time, after weighing, the shark was released back into the water.

The boy’s father said that he did not expect this from his son, he thought that Xandre was not yet physically strong enough to pull out such an impressive catch. At the same time, he warned the boy that if he caught a big fish, he would have to pull it out on his own, although it was very difficult to cope with sharks.

Narrow-toothed sharks – just such a boy caught – reach three meters in length. They feed mainly on mollusks, bony and cartilaginous fish.
