Izvestia: deputies demanded to resume unscheduled inspections of the beer business
Russian deputies and the Public Consumer Initiative (PII) called for the resumption of unscheduled inspections of producers of beer, cider and other light alcoholic beverages. They write about it”Newswith reference to the appeal.
The authors of the initiative appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the government of the Russian Federation, Rosalkogolregulirovanie and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The reason was the mass poisoning with surrogate cider in the Volga Federal District.
According to the Russian Ministry of Health, the number of victims of poisoning with the drink “Mr. Cider” has reached 90 people, of whom more than 30 have died. Cases of poisoning were recorded in the Ulyanovsk, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod regions, Udmurtia and Chuvashia.
The deadly drink itself was bottled in the Samara region, from where it was transported in kegs and sold in draft drink stores.
